Webinar: 22q Family Foundation In February 2019, the 22q Family Foundation teamed up with ABLEnow, the country’s largest independent ABLE program, for a free webinar on ABLE accounts. Watch an archived recording of this webinar on this page. 22q11.2 Deletion syndrome — or 22q — is believed to be the second most common genetic disorder behind Down syndrome, yet most have never heard of it. Also referred to as Velocardiofacialsyndrome (VCFS) or DiGeorge syndrome, 22q is caused by a small missing piece of the 22nd chromosome. This tiny missing portion of chromosome 22 can affect every system in the human body. 22q can be the cause of nearly 200 mild to serious health and developmental issues in children. The 22q Family Foundation is a national organization dedicated to raising awareness for 22q11.2 Deletion syndrome while connecting, supporting, and offering accurate information to families.
