Episode 115 of The Lucky Few podcast focuses on the ABLE Act and what it means for eligible individuals with disabilities. Hosted by three mothers who have children with Down syndrome, the national podcast covers stories, interviews and advocacy in the Down syndrome community.

The free episode is available on The Lucky Few podcast website as well as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Play Music and Anchor.

The Lucky Few hosts chat mom-to-mom with ABLEnow board member, Catherine Beck. Along with her late husband, Stephen E. Beck, Jr., Catherine lobbied the U.S. Congress for more than a decade resulting in the successful bipartisan passage of the Stephen E. Beck, Jr. Achieving a Better Life Experience Act of 2014, commonly known as the ABLE Act.

“Let’s make it really simple. It’s a tool to save,” shares Catherine Beck as she explains ABLE in her interview. “It’s a savings account that you can use for many of the things you are going to need, and you need right now for your child with a disability.”

Catherine’s daughter, Natalie Beck, opened the first ABLEnow account when the program launched in 2016.
