Disability Employment Month

National Disability Employment Awareness Month takes place each October to celebrate the contributions of America's workers with disabilities and increase awareness of the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents. This year marks not only the 75th observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), but also the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Both milestones are being commemorated around the 2020 theme "Increasing Access and Opportunity."

As an empowering financial tool for the disability community, ABLEnow is proud to support the employment needs and contributions of Americans with disabilities. Many current customers are saving (or plan to save) earned income in their ABLEnow account. Thanks to the ABLE to Work Act, working ABLE account owners who do not participate in an employer-sponsored retirement plan may contribute certain amounts above the annual ABLE contribution limit ($15,000 in 2020).

Millions of Americans with disabilities are eligible to open an ABLE account today. Take this quiz to see if you or someone you know is eligible.
